Activity 1 - In this super fun and sensory-packed acticty, toddlers experienced the magic of making ice cream from scratch! The children all gathered eagerly and helped scoop, pour and shake simple ingredients like cream, sugar and vanilla to create their delicious treat while developing fine motor skills and practicing teamwork. As they interacted with the ingredients they explored texture, temperatures and sounds like the ice and the skating of the bag. The toddlers loved the activity.

Activity 2 - The toddlers had a blast exploring a slime sensory bin filled with sea animals in today's exciting hands-on activity! They squished, stretched and poked at the slime, engaging in their fine motor skills as they scooped, poured and mixed. As they interacted with the slime the children discussed its sticky, stretchy and soft textures, while imagining their sea animals swimming through the squishy ocean. After the acticty was over the toddler asked to play with the slime again after afternoon snack, and they did this time we added different kinds of rolling pins and rolling pins that left shapes in the slime.  

Activity 3 (Block week)-The homemade shape-matching activity features a "chocolate box" design, where children match colorful cardboard chocolates to their corresponding slots. This engaging activity enhances shape recognition, fine motor skills, and problem-solving while making learning fun with a pretend-play element. As children explore different shapes such as circles, triangles, squares, and hearts, they develop spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination. The activity also encourages critical thinking as they analyze which chocolate piece fits into each space, reinforcing cognitive skills. The playful and interactive nature of the activity sparks curiosity and excitement, motivating children to participate and learn through hands-on exploration. Additionally, the familiar and imaginative theme of a chocolate box adds an element of creativity, making the learning experience enjoyable and memorable.

Activity 4 (Block week)- The animal mask activity features printed masks attached to popsicle sticks, brought in for dramatic play. Children use the masks to role-play different animals, explore animal sounds, and engage in imaginative storytelling. This activity encourages creativity, boosts confidence in expressive play, and supports social interaction as children take on different roles and engage with their peers. As they embody different animals, they practice language skills by mimicking sounds, describing characteristics, and creating their own narratives. The activity also fosters cooperation and turn-taking, as children collaborate to act out scenes or respond to each other's roles. Through this playful experience, they build communication skills, enhance their understanding of various animals, and develop a sense of empathy by stepping into different perspectives.

Activity 5 (Block week)- During book reading, The Rainbow Fish is brought to life with a vibrant Rainbow Fish prop, featuring shimmering scales that captivate the children's attention. As the story unfolds, children engage in discussions about kindness, sharing, and the importance of friendship, fostering their social-emotional development. The interactive storytelling experience allows them to touch and explore the textured scales, making the lesson more tangible and memorable. Through group participation, children practice their listening and comprehension skills while also being encouraged to express their thoughts and feelings about the story. This activity not only enhances literacy development but also creates a meaningful connection between the story's message and real-life social interactions.

Activity 6 (Block week)-The car art activity allows children to create their own vehicles using half a paper plate as the base and various paper shapes for decoration. Using glue, they arrange colourful squares, rectangles, and circles to design unique cars, encouraging creativity, fine motor skills, and shape recognition. As they layer and position the shapes, they practice spatial awareness and problem-solving skills. The hands-on nature of this activity also supports sensory exploration as they manipulate the materials, feel the textures, and observe how the glue changes as it dries. This open-ended craft allows for self-expression, as each child's car turns out differently, reflecting their individual ideas and creativity.

Activity 7 (Block week)- The kinetic sand road sensory bin provides an engaging, tactile experience where children use toy cars to create tracks and roads in soft, moldable sand. As they push, roll, and dig, they strengthen their hand muscles and refine fine motor skills. The sensory aspect of the sand encourages exploration and curiosity, while the movement of the toy cars helps develop hand-eye coordination. The activity promotes imaginative play as children create their roadways, simulate traffic scenarios, and interact with one another, fostering social skills and cooperation. Adding toy road signs and small props enhances their understanding of basic traffic concepts, encouraging early learning about real-world environments in a fun and interactive way.

9-Alphabet soup sensory bin- This fun and interactive Alphabet Soup Sensory Play activity engages preschoolers in early literacy through hands-on water play. Using floating alphabet sponges, spoons, and bowls, children scoop letters to identify and discuss them, strengthening letter recognition, fine motor skills, and social interaction. Simple modifications, like adjusting letter quantity or adding coloured water, enhance engagement while keeping the experience accessible. This playful approach makes learning letters exciting, fostering curiosity and language development in a sensory-rich environment!

Activity 10- St Patrick's Day craft. This Shamrock Sponge Painting activity combines sensory exploration, creativity, and fine motor skill development while celebrating St. Patrick's Day. Preschoolers use sponges to dab green paint around taped shamrock cutouts, revealing a white shamrock shape when removed. This hands-on experience helps children explore cause and effect, develop spatial awareness, and express creativity through colour and texture. Simple modifications, such as using different shades of green or adding gold glitter, enhance engagement. The activity fosters early artistic skills and encourages discussions about shapes, colours, and patterns in a fun and festive way!

Activity 11- Name art craft. The "My Name Alphabet Art" activity helps preschoolers recognize and take ownership of their names while fostering fine motor skills and creativity. Children decorate a large uppercase letter of their name with stickers, drawings, and colours that reflect their interests. This hands-on literacy experience supports letter recognition, self-expression, and early writing skills. By tracing or writing their name, children build confidence in letter formation while making a personal connection to literacy. Modifications such as pre-cut letters for younger learners and themed decorations enhance engagement, making this a fun and meaningful name-based learning experience!

Activity 12- Do's and Don'ts Classroom activity. The Do's and Don'ts Matching Activity helps preschoolers understand appropriate and inappropriate behaviours in a fun and interactive way. Using visual behaviour cards, children match actions to the correct category, promoting early social-emotional learning and classroom expectations. Discussions encourage critical thinking, while modifications like laminated cards, role-play, and peer collaboration make the activity accessible for all learners. Through this hands-on approach, children develop an understanding of positive social behaviours, teamwork, and decision-making in a supportive and engaging environment!
